Pumpkin Carving Time

This year we carved some 2 pumpkins, one for Andrew, which Daddy "helped" with. And one for Alivia, which Mommy "helped" with while she slept upstairs.

I'm crazy about the pumpkin seeds. I don't let a single one get by me. We roasted them until they were perfect and Andrew, Jason and I ate them until our bellies were full.
Andrew was really hesitant to stick his hands in any of the pumpkin goo, so he just helped me sort out the seeds.

This spider is Andrew's design. Didn't he do a wonderful job for only being (almost) 4 years old

Here is Alivia's goofy faced pumpkin. She worked really hard while she napped in her cozy crib.

All done and on the porch, ready for tricker-treaters! Bring it on Rhody-Park, teenagers!

Goodbye Lutz Dinner / Karaoke Night

Our friends Toni and Tysen are moving to Denver coming up pretty soon. So we all got together for a dinner at Lombardi's in Ballard (great Italian food!) and then it turned into a karaoke night. We went down to a karaoke dive in Des Moines and showed the locals how it's done. It was pretty amazing because not only did Jason get up and sing for the first time in the 8 years I've known him, so did my friend Laura (but not without some serious peer-pressure).

Here is Steven singing "Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks. He was really into it. He could feel the music. In his bones. And the Thunder Rolls.

Notice Jason has the microphone all to himself.....Jason, Toni and Laura were all singing "Man Eater"

Here I am singing "Girls Night Out" by the Judds

Tysen, Jason and Steven being the true posers that they are!

The whole crew at Lombardi's (except me, cause someone's gotta take the picture)

It was so much fun, and we will miss the Lutzs very much!!

Andrew's First Day of Preschool

This was Andrew's first day of Preschool. He has now been in it for almost a month, and he loves it. He really is learning a lot, making new friends and just growing up faster and faster. We are so proud of the smart, sweet caring boy he is growing into.
